About me

Ben Shannon

I have over a decade of experience working in the addiction field, working with individuals, couples, and families. I take an attachment-based approach, blending experiential modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), explained below, to help people access themselves more fully, understand the different parts that are shaping their experience, and develop the capacity to connect to themselves and to others.

I believe that when I show up vulnerably as a therapist, it creates the safety for clients to do the same. Ultimately, the therapeutic relationship becomes a bridge to deeper intimacy, greater self-understanding, and a more connected life.
