Binyamin (Ben) Shannon, LCSW, CSAT · Individual & Couples Therapy · Brooklyn, NY
I work closely with individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in navigating addiction, relational strain, and fostering intimacy. Together we can build better patterns for your future.
Get in TouchThe reasons people enter my office vary. Sometimes something is clearly wrong: a struggle with addiction, or a relationship that feels broken. Other times it's more subtle: repetitive, broken communication patterns, a growing distance from a spouse, or a sense that something important has gone quiet.
In both cases, what's often underneath is a disconnect from others, and from oneself. Together, we can work on finding deeper understanding of these patterns and move forward positively.
We start by addressing what needs attention on the outside thought patterns, daily structure, support systems, and where relevant, the habits that are getting in the way. Getting stable matters, and it's where most people need to begin.
At the same time, we work inward: building a clearer relationship with yourself, understanding what drives your patterns, and developing the capacity for genuine connection first in the therapy room, and then in your relationships. This work moves through the body, the emotions, and the beliefs that shape how you see yourself and others.
Change is possible. Most people who do this work find themselves living with more clarity, more ease, and closer relationships than they thought were available to them.
Working with individuals and couples navigating substance use, compulsive behaviors, and the relational wounds that often sit underneath them.
Helping partners reconnect emotionally, rebuild trust, and develop the communication and vulnerability that sustain a healthy relationship.
Exploring the relational patterns and early experiences that shape how we connect and learning to build new ones.
